I was just watching the best show on Australian television (and the Logie goes to Letters and Numbers) and learned today's fact from David Astle's nightly word lesson.
And I love it! CamelCase!
CamelCase is the result when you put two words together and retain the capitals. It's common with brands, and particularly with technology brands, with PayPal, PlayStation, MySpace, YouTube and iPod springing to mind. And, as you can probably guess, the name stems from the 'camel humps' that the retained capitalisation creates in the middle of the new word.
Perhaps, to keep up with the times, I should change my name to EmHawker. Better yet, eHawk. Yo, wassup, I'm down wit it, fo'shiz.
What do you think of my new name? What would your name be in CamelCase?
I've recently heard one of the terms 'the kids' use is 'TotesCo'. You know like, 'totally cool. TotesCo. Hmm
ReplyDeleteMy name would be JayGar in Camelcase. I don't think so. I may be mistaken for a certain retailer of technical and automotive products :/
Hmmmm, I have a hyphernated last name and I used to go by BeeBC, so I suppose it would be that. I like the term CamelCase though.
